Subject

The American Soviet Walk of 1987

Description

"...I thought that exchanging the folk tales, stories and ideas about life and all different things, people can become much wiser than if several famous persons would get together and each of them would pronounce one previously well prepared wise thought.

It is really wonderful if you would exchange these stories and ideas on your way, walking along the road and the people around would smile to you.

But this does not happen so often in life.

We were walking in a quiet rain, the kind if it starts at this time of the year, it will continue for a day and for two days and the garden will become damp and the soccer field behind the school building will become wet and muddy.

In order to walk from Leningrad to Moscow, Stan Smith, a teacher from a town with the name Moscow in the state of Idaho, temporarily left his home, family and students..."
